Light and Darkness
create movement and
search for The Midpoint...

Around 2007-2008 I was planning to make a personal project, a short film. From this time you can see some of the realized scenes. The fantasy environments were meant to represent contrasts of opposites. I planned to connect everything with a scene called "The Return of the Light". I didn't finish the overall film at that time due to technological limitations and mainly lack of time. At this time I started working for the film studio UPP and so I didn't have much time for personal projects...That left me with a few scenes and a memory...

CONCEPTS

In 2007 I created a series of concepts and storyboards for this future short film. Below you can see animations and 3D scenes realized based on these simple designs.

I. Forest of two faces

The deep forest, with a quietly gurgling stream running through its centre, gives a welcoming impression at first sight. But this place has its flip side, where light does not penetrate and is the entrance to the underground darkness of silence.

II. Village of two weather

In a landscape of hills and grassy meadows is a small village. The old stone rows and megaliths in its surroundings hide a story. It awakens to shine a light in dark times on the path to knowledge.

III. The Cave of two faces

In the darkness of the underground spaces, the element of water and fire, rising from the depths of the Earth, collide. The intricate passages and depths of darkness also hid a wealth of riches such as gold and silver. People once tried to mine them by force, but they failed to understand that they were not real riches. So the place remained abandoned.

IV. The darkside
of "The Return of the Light"

Just as the lighthouse keeper returns home, so the old miller comes from his journey through the world to bring the Light again.

V. The Hope in Jungle

Somewhere in the depths of the rainforest, people once lived. The forest may have swallowed up this civilization, but their stories carry lessons and shine the light of knowledge to this day...
