Magically animated
classic puppet movie
by Lenka Ivančíková
As part of the film, I was approached by producer and production coordinator Dita Knotova to help complete several panoramic shots. I was excited by the very concept of a classic animated film set in a forest environment and the poetics of the narrative. Here Lenka Ivančíková lovingly brought to life a cute hedgehog puppet and a touchingly fragile story from a forest kingdom immersed in the white winter. Lenka's film won the Best Animated Film Award at the 2016 International Student Film Festival in Písek (Czech Republic).
So my job was the complete realization of several panoramic shots of one mountain location, which served as the intro scene of the film and the final shot. I used advanced methods of 3D matte painting, digital painting, creative retouching and a database of photographs that I captured in various locations (Jizera Mountains, Austrian Tauern, Alps, Czech forests and clouds photographed from the window of my Prague apartment).
