In the forgotten
arms of the Amazon River
among the mangrove roots...

The key visual from a biotope somewhere in a forgotten arm of the Amazon River and a short promo film from the professional aquarium industry. Year 2005-06.

STORY

METOP AQUARIUM was an important Czech company in the field of export and import of aquarium fish. It traded a myriad of aquarium fish, amphibians and other aquatic animals from local and foreign breeders. It has imported aquarium fish from all corners of the world from Asia, Africa to South America...

VISUAL

The presentation also included a 3D visualization/image of the Amazon habitat, passarted to A0 size. The visual of the Amazon rainforest was realized before starting work on the short film. The dominant fish here are Chalceus macrolepidotus and Myleus schomburgkii. The whole scenery is a habitat somewhere in a forgotten arm of the Amazon River, through which grow the tangled roots of mangroves.

FILM

The short film itself was made for the company's presentation at INTERZOO 2006 in Nuremberg (Germany). In the case of this presentation documentary, in addition to the graphic and visual post-production work, I was involved in filming and collecting illustrative material in the field. Much of the footage was shot in the company's breeding warehouses. I also visited several farms in different parts of the Czech Republic. Last but not least, I stopped at the oldest botanical garden in the Czech Republic - Liberec, where the company supplied several live specimens and provided expert advice.
